We are pleased that Dr. Brett Goldsmith will be here at UCI and plans to meet with postdocs to discuss his career path, transitioning to industry, and working as the founder and CTO of Nanomedical Diagnostics. If you are considering a career path in industry and perhaps starting your own company, be sure to register and join the conversation!

Dr. Goldsmith received a PhD in Physics from UCI in 2008 through the Chemical and Materials Physics program. During his training at UCI, he helped construct Professor Phil Collins’s lab and was a key contributor to the Collins group’s ongoing and groundbreaking nanotechnology research. After UCI, Goldsmith took a fellowship position at University of Pennsylvania and then founded the Functional Nano Device group at the Navy’s SSC Pacific laboratory. He then transitioned to industry, and founded his own startup nanotechnology company. He maintains a close relationship with UCI, and still regularly talks and collaborates with UCI researchers.
