Residents of California are required to hold a California driver license in order to drive. To get a license, you will need to go to the DMV to submit an application. You must provide residency documents and identification, and pay the application fee. Depending on your situation and experience on the road, you may need to pass a vision exam, a knowledge test, and/or a driving test. Before going to the DMV, you must schedule an appointment online.
